Happy Friday! I hope everyone is having a great week so far!
Today I wanted to share this beautiful table setting my Mom and I arranged for a special dinner while I was visiting my family in Murrells Inlet, SC for the 4th of July holiday. Luckily, my Mom loves a blue and white color palette as much as I do, and it ended up being the perfect combination for a pre-July 4th marsh-side dinner al fresco.
I am not an expert at table setting, but my Mom has been known to put together beautiful tablescapes, especially around the holidays. We like to call her ‘Maggie Stewart’. 🙂 I am developing a passion for it as well, so I have her to thank for that!
My Mom found these beautiful blue and white plates from Tuesday Morning. The tablecloth was also purchased there, and is something I plan to use quite a bit this Summer, both indoor and out. I just love these rattan chargers from Pottery Barn, and the way they paired so well with the plates. The beautiful flatware and wine glasses are vintage and were handed down from my Grandmother, who was also visiting over the weekend.
Lastly, the white hydrangeas, mixed in with carnations, were the perfect centerpiece. Hydrangeas scream “Summer”, in my opinion!
The marsh front (and pool-side!) setting was the perfect backdrop, and made this dinner all the more special. It’s always breezy on the inlet, so it was nice being outdoors, despite how hot it has been here lately! The tide was also high, so we saw plenty of wildlife, and there were lots of people out and about enjoying the inlet by boat.
I’m looking forward to having more opportunities to create fun tablescapes. Let me know if you have any great tips for setting the table!
Thank you for reading!
