One activity that has been on my Autumn ‘Bucket List’ for a long time is visiting an apple orchard. We do not have any orchards in the Charleston area that I’m aware of, so when we were planning a visit to Highlands, North Carolina for a quick mountain get-away, I made sure this was on our list of things to do! Bryson’s Apple Orchard in Mountain Rest was not far off of our path to Highlands, so we stopped there to pick some apples (just in time – right before the rain started!)
They had rows of apple trees, each with different varieties of the fruit. We ended up with a bucket full, so I’m now on the hunt for some recipes so that we can make great use out of the apples we picked!
As you can see from the photos, we had a blast (especially Beau!). After getting a taste of Fall in both the mountains and NYC, I am very much in Fall-mode. This weekend, I’m planning to decorate our front porch, bake some apple treats, and hopefully watch Hocus Pocus (haha!)
