Putting together tablescapes is one of my favorite hobbies. I find it to be so enjoyable to pull together pieces to come up with a beautiful table setting! I wish that I had an endless amount of storage space to collect all of the pretty linens, dishes, and glasses that I’ve seen on store shelves and online lately. I’m in need of a kitchen cabinet addition to make this happen! (Hint hint, Santa!)
Christmas is one of my favorite occasions to set a pretty table for. Michael and I spent our first Christmas together last year (out of 8 years of dating!). It was right after we got engaged, and we wanted to start a tradition of having a special dinner on Christmas Eve together. We are repeating this tradition a day early this year on the 23rd, due to plans that we have for the 24th.
The first pieces that I knew I wanted to include in my table setting were these embroidered bow linen placemats from Mrs. Alice. I could browse the Mrs. Alice site for hours – her tablewares are all stunningly beautiful!
The bow placemats come in several colors, but I loved the gold version for a holiday table.
I used my rose Estelle Colored Glass stemware, and these fun new glasses that I picked up from Elizabeth Stuart, a local Charleston shop that carries the most beautiful curated collection of housewares and tabletop items.
The white pearl dinner plates were one of the items I registered for for our wedding. It’s hard to tell from these photos, but they have the sweetest pearl detail around the center. I love them!
I decided upon several small arrangements of red and pink roses in my favorite glass vases. I love the unexpected pairing and how they complement the gold details on the table. Trader Joes always has the best selection of roses!
For dinner, we are making scallops over angel hair pasta. We used this recipe last year and it was delicious!
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
